Adkins Chiropractic Clinic in West Seattle opened at 6021C California Ave. 6 years ago. As a chiropractor with over 27 years of experience, my goal is to help restore function and well-being to each patient. I have a genuine desire to help you get great results.
My approach for providing care is based on my experience as a patient, along with years of expertise as a doctor. Through the years I’ve integrated a variety of techniques to choose from when delivering care. These methods require careful scrutinizing of areas of ligament laxity, and areas of decreased mobility. For example, a person with a low back sprain/strain will have ligaments that are not holding well, so use of my SOT (Sacro Occipital Technique) blocks is very effective. These blocks or wedges are strategically placed under the pelvis and the patient’s body weight on them produces a gradual and calming adjustment without putting more strain on the ligaments. Some people are fearful of being adjusted, or have conditions that should not be adjusted manually. In these cases, I use gentle mobilizing methods and/or an Arthrostim instrument, which gives rapid relief.
Many people have other health problems along with pain. These problems often affect the person’s ability to heal and are taken into consideration while they are receiving treatments. As a Chiropractic Physician and a Wellness consultant, patients come to me for help figuring out why they are not getting better. Some have several other doctors, and we look at the whole picture to find ways to get improvement or resolve.
It takes about an hour. A complete evaluation will be performed. I will also determine whether further tests are needed. Then treatment options will be discussed. The gentle treatments are done with complete attention to your comfort and are very specific to how you are feeling at that time. I provide more than pain relief. The best Chiropractic care gives patients more energy and protection from disease. It is a wellness plan for life and is safe all the way from birth through old age.
